Lowpoly assets
Modelling and texturing for a horror murder mystery game.
The premise
Snowed in at a rustic ’70s cabin, the player must look for clues to figure out who killed his friend. The culprit turns out to be.. the cabin itself!?
The malicious cabin digests it’s victims and uses their remains and posessions to sustain itself. Those remains can be seen integrated in it’s interior design. You’ll find items like a chandelier with rib-like candle holders and a coatrack with ..finger-shaped hangers.
The game was never fully textured, but the idea is illustrated well enough through the screenshots.
The models
For the lowpoly creation workflow I did research in multiple workflows. We settled on modelling and texturing in Blockbench, as it was an easy to learn software with quick, style-consistent results.
It was a blast making these assets, because the results were very charming and were quickly made! I took on a couple more assets to relieve workload on team members and for fun.
More of this project
Additionally, I worked on the concepting and visual developing of two characters of the cast: the jock and the blonde.
